Oscars nominations revealed: see the full list of nominees and biggest snubs

Show summary Hide summary

The Academy revealed its 2026 Oscar nominees, and one film towered above the rest. Sinners leads the pack with a record 16 nominations, grabbing attention across major and technical categories.

Sinners sets a new nominations benchmark and top contenders

Warner Bros.’ Sinners dominated this year’s slate with nominations from directing to screenplay.

  • Sinners: 16 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director.
  • One Battle After Another: 13 noms and multiple top-category placements.
  • Frankenstein, Marty Supreme, and Sentimental Value: nine nominations each.

Studios with the largest tallies were: Warner Bros. with 30 noms, Neon with 18, and Netflix with 16.

New casting award and stricter viewing rules from the Academy

The Oscars introduced a new prize this year for Best Casting. It is the first new category added since 2002.

A shortlist of ten films was pared down after casting directors held a “bake-off.” Films that earned casting nods include Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent and Sinners.

The Academy also tightened voting rules. Members must confirm how and when they watched films. Viewings are tracked through the members-only Screening Room app or via a viewing log for festival and screening attendance.

Hosts, broadcast details and notable surprises

Conan O’Brien returns as host for the second straight year. The ceremony will air live on ABC and stream on Hulu. The broadcast is set for Sunday, March 15, beginning at 4 p.m. PT from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Among the surprises: Delroy Lindo and Kate Hudson scored nominations. By contrast, Wicked: For Good received no nominations.
