Police Round-Up And Arrest Prominent Protest Organizers

Today, 6 prominent anti-racist protest organizers were rounded up at their houses by swat/police units and arrested on charges that seem to make no sense.

What We Know:

The six arrested are:

  • Lillian Rose House, 25
  • Joel Prentice Northam, 32
  • Whitney Hanna Lucero, 23
  • Trey Anthony Quinn, 33
  • John Russel Ruch, 33
  • Terrance Terrell Roberts, 44.

The Party for Socialism and Liberation (of which 4 of the six were members) has called the charges against the Denver Protesters “phony” and demanded charges be dropped.

The Charges:

From 17th Judicial District in Adams County District Court:

  • Attempt to commit first-degree kidnapping (House, Northam, Lucero)
  • Attempt to influence a public servant (House)
  • Inciting a riot (House, Northam, Lucero, Quinn, Roberts)
  • Inciting a riot by giving command (Northam, Lucero, Quinn)

From the 18th Judicial District in Arapahoe District Court:

  • Inciting a riot (House, Northam)
  • Conspiracy to commit inciting a riot (House, Northam)
  • Theft from a person (House, Northam, Ruch)
  • Conspiracy to commit theft from a person (House, Northam, Ruch)

This and a slew of misdemeanor charges were the protesters.

“We can see exactly what’s taking place here, this isn’t some issue about violence or disruption, or whatever they are going to claim about [the Denver Protesters]— this is payback. This is payback from the authorities in the Denver and Aurora areas because they are Irate that their crimes have been revealed to the world.” Said a PSL spokesperson in a Livestream on Thursday regarding the arrest of the protesters.
