(DENVER Via RedLine Contemporary Art Center) — The Reach Studio program at RedLine is featuring an exhibition and virtual showcase by participating artists entitled Art of the Moment. The work is a culmination of all that has happened between March 2020, when RedLine was forced to close to the Denver Art Scene, and the present time. Reach is a unique program that thrives on the interaction and support of the participating artists; many of whom have suffered from home insecurity, unemployment, financial hardship, and other difficulties who then can come together in a secure and supportive environment to collaborate and create.
The COVID-19 pandemic has proven to be quite the challenge for the Reach community, which relies heavily on the shared studio space for coming together and making work. The program had to adjust its bi-weekly community studio schedule to accommodate the new social distancing requirements, which materialized in a weekly zoom call session with participating artists in order to connect and share. The dedication of the Redline Reach Studio Artists can not be overstated, and the work that has been created by them as a result of this challenging time is profound.
“These uncertain times have only strengthened our bond and commitment to one another. Although our voices have been temporarily silenced because of injustice and quarantine, our artwork has not. It is our pleasure to present to you. Art of the Moment.” -Reach Studio Artists-
