The global COVID19 pandemic is in full swing and the world remains hungry for high-quality content. Luckily, (SALT) Mag & The Music District have just the medicine for you.
Our pals over at The Music District have been cooking up something good. A new featured series podcast that centers around the discovery of new music, and the fondness of listening back to songs that were deeply influential for musicians.
Each artist is invited to sit down with host Shane Zweygardt and dive into what makes these tracks so special to them over the course of twenty minutes.
For the pilot episode Shane Interviews Crip Erickson, the Drummer for Mama Lenny & The Remedy, fantastic musicians in their own right, about his love of Stewart Copeland and Synchronicity II by The Police.
Check out a video of Mama Lenny & The Remedy in the studio at The Blasting Room below!
The monthly series “I Love This Song” will be going out on The Music District Podcast once a month. The next I Love This Song will feature Bevin Luna— while browsing through The Music District Podcast, be sure to check out Groundwaves and Musician’s Help Desk while you’re at it.
Because of the pandemic, physical spaces are (for the meantime) out as far as performances, practices, and gatherings are concerned. It is now up to all of us to create outlets for musicians and performers in the foreseeable future to ensure that the scene in Colorado doesn’t disappear altogether. Bandcamp is still having its direct-to-artists benefit days and we would highly recommend supporting musicians by tossing them a few bones to keep them going!
Tune in for Bevin Luna next month!
