FoCoMX Drive & Jive: Live Music at the Drive-In

Some good news from the Fort. Live music may be down, but not out —

Northern Colorado Music nonprofit teams up with Odell Brewing and Sustain Music & Nature to offer safe live music concert series at the Drive-In.

The Fort Collins Musicians Association (FoCoMA), Odell Brewing, and Sustain Music & Nature have come together to produce a brand new, social distancing friendly concert series at the historic Holiday Twin Drive-In Theater in Fort Collins. This era of drive-in concerts has officially begun. The live music series called the “FoCoMX Drive & Jive” will be taking place every Tuesday night all summer long. The series will kick off on June 9th and will feature NoCo bands playing live music to what are bound to be enthusiastic audiences watching from their cars — there are distance requirements between vehicles (10ft) — which is plenty of room to still have a good time.

“Just like everyone else, our music scene has struggled to find creative ways to continue working and performing in these uncertain times—

Said FoCoMA President Greta Cornett.

“We are thrilled to continue supporting our musicians, our music industry, and for the opportunity to do our part to bring some live and local music back to Fort Collins this summer.”

The first concert will be taking place on June 9th, with the first acts to perform under the new circumstances being Sugar Britches and Bonnie & the Clydes.

The performances from the stage will be projected to the Holiday Twins Drive-In big screen and broadcast via FM radio transmitter for fans to enjoy from the safety of their vehicle. In addition to that, snacks and concessions can be purchased online through the drive-in website.

Tickets for the event will run you $30 per car and includes admission for 2 people. Beyond the two-person limit, it will cost you $10 per additional person. Quite reasonable when it comes to supporting the music scene in a time like this.
