Elise Wunder “The Desert Lonely” Review

Elise Wunder – The Desert Lonely

Elise Wunder has a knack for arrangements that suit each song, carefully assembling each one like a masterchef.  Each song on the album is given the appropriate herbs and spices. A dash of mandolin here with a pinch of thick reverb and some claps for good measure.  Every element is exactly in its place. The Desert Lonely is an easy listen, but it’s not without bite.  As a whole, it is remarkably cohesive for an album that covers as much ground as it does; it maintains a feeling somewhere between beautiful dream and dessert hallucination.
