This EP is a throwback to another era of music. One can’t help but appreciate a subtle innuendo such as “Get the Truck Off My Lawn” in a day when truly nothing is shocking. Lopez’s voice is a deep croon, at times reminiscent of Elvis. The band perfectly captures that vintage Nashville sound; recording there probably went a long way towards achieving that. Although the songs are a clear throwback to the past, Lopez manages to bring something new to the table with his incendiary guitar playing. Paired with the pedal steel work of Lloyd Green, it is pure twang and the height of Americana.
